Full Description
A striking Eileen Gray-style side table inspired by the iconic E 1027 Adjustable Table, one of the defining designs of 20th-century modernist furniture. Designed by Eileen Gray in 1927, the original concept was created around versatility and practical modern living, combining a simple circular top with an ingenious open tubular-steel structure.
The table features a clear circular glass top supported by a graceful chrome-plated tubular steel frame. The distinctive open base allows the table to be positioned close to a chair, sofa or bed, while the clean lines and combination of glass and polished metal give it a particularly light and elegant appearance.
Eileen Gray's original E 1027 table was conceived as an adaptable piece of furniture, with its height-adjustable construction allowing it to be used in a variety of settings. The design takes its name from Gray's celebrated modernist house, E-1027, created with Jean Badovici on the French Riviera between 1926 and 1929.
The E 1027 design has since become an enduring icon of modern furniture and is held in major design collections, including The Museum of Modern Art in New York. Its combination of functionality, minimalism and elegant proportions has ensured its continued popularity more than a century after the original design was conceived.
This is an excellent example for anyone looking to introduce an Eileen Gray-inspired modernist side table into a contemporary, mid-century or eclectic interior. Its understated form works particularly well alongside period seating, contemporary sofas or other classic design pieces.

Styling Notes
A wonderfully versatile design classic with a light, architectural quality. The combination of clear glass and polished chrome works particularly well beside modernist and mid-century seating, but its simple silhouette also sits comfortably within contemporary, minimalist and eclectic interiors. The open base makes it particularly useful beside a sofa or armchair where a conventional four-legged side table might feel visually heavy.
